Description
Oral history with District 25 Representative and Speaker of the House Charles Dewitt. Conducted on August 24, 2007. In this conclusion, Dewitt discusses term limits in the Louisiana House and why he thinks they are needed in Louisiana public offices, his time as Speaker of the House and the differences between it and being a regular representative, and some of his accomplishments both as a representative and Speaker. He also gives advice to the new wave of legislators coming for the 2008 session. Dewitt served in the Louisiana House of Representatives for twenty-eight years. This interview is part of a series of interviews conducted with numerous Louisiana legislators being term limited following the 2007 legislative session. Part 3 of 3.
