This segment from the February 3, 2017, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Charlie Whinham’s visit to Denham Springs High School in Livingston Parish to check in on their recovery efforts following the August 2016 floods. Whinham reports that students returned to their newly renovated school after the Christmas break. He interviews: Kelly Jones, principal; Dr. Andrew Hunter, the band director; and Lisa Borne, a biology teacher. They discuss their ambitious schedule for returning to their school, the resilience of their students, their remaining needs, and their hopes to have a strong finish to the school year.
