This segment from the September 24, 2010, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features the second part of Charlie Whinham’s interview with Jimmy Taylor on his autobiography “The Fire Within.” Taylor, a native of Baton Rouge, played college football at LSU and professional football with the Green Bay Packers from 1958-1966 and the New Orleans Saints in their inaugural year in 1967. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1976. He discusses his initial impressions of Coach Vince Lombardi, playing in Super Bowl I, the end of his career with the Green Bay Packers, suffering a stroke six years ago, and his recovery.
