Description
This segment from the July 3, 2009, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features WWL reporter Bill Capo’s interview with Corporal Benton Thames of Denham Springs, a member of the United States Army’s Old Guard. He talks about his experience in guarding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery and his interactions with World War II veterans from Louisiana participating in the Louisiana Honor Air program. The Louisiana Honor Air program sends Louisiana World War II veterans on a one-day trip to visit the National World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. Capo also talks to World War II veteran Earl Flatt of Louisiana Honor Air about the fundraising efforts for upcoming trips. Host: Charlie Whinham
