Oral history with Brenda Dardar Robichaux, former Principal Chief of United Houma Nation. Conducted July 6, 2010. In this interview, Robichaux discusses the expansive history of the United Houma Nation, how the tribe is organized in the modern day, and events that the tribe holds each year to keep their traditions alive. She also discusses the ongoing struggle with the Houma tribe gaining federal recognition from the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the problems the tribe immediately faced due to the 2010 BP Oil Spill.
