This segment from the 2016 Young Heroes Award Ceremony features a profile of honoree Madison Fruge, a junior at Avoyelles High School in Moreauville, Louisiana. Fruge suffered a traumatic brain injury during a seventh grade basketball game and has almost no memory of her life before the accident. She started Maddie’s Gifts of Hope and brings gifts to young patients at Children’s Hospital in New Orleans and St. Jude’s in Memphis.
