Description
This segment from the 2015 Young Heroes Award Ceremony features a profile of honoree Jacob Waters of Ragley, a freshman at Sam Houston High School in Lake Charles. Waters was born with a deformity to his lower left leg due to a rare disease called Jack Weiss Syndrome. At the age of ten, he made the decision to have his leg amputated below his knee. Waters is now a competitive cyclist and was chosen to attend the U.S. Paralympic Emerging Talent Cycling Camp. He has also started a non-profit foundation to help purchase special equipment so that disabled children around the state can also start cycling. Hosts: Shauna Sanford and Beth Courtney
