Description
This segment from the 2011 Young Heroes Award Ceremony features a profile of honoree Ty’Riana Wilson, a senior at Catholic High School in New Iberia. Wilson has overcome personal difficulties in her life, including the death of her mother when she was eight. In addition to working a part-time job and participating in school activities, Wilson volunteers with Ronald McDonald House, Toys for Tots, and the Boys and Girls Club. She also helps collect food for the food bank, calls bingo numbers at a nursing home, and serves as an usher at her church.
