Torres has overcome difficulties in her personal life, including a recent stay at a domestic abuse shelter with her mother and brother. She has raised thousands of dollars for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and collected food, clothes, and toys for the Taylor House. She also helps care for her younger brother, who is autistic.
