Description
This segment from the 2008 Young Heroes Award Ceremony features a profile of honoree Jeremy Hebert, a senior at Glen Oaks High School in Baton Rouge. In June 2007, Herbert’s mother was shot in a murder-suicide involving her boyfriend. In the aftermath of this tragedy, Herbert founded a group called Young Educated Males against Drugs and Violence so that upperclassmen could serve as role models to the underclassmen at his school. He also maintains a 3.6 grade point average, serves as the captain of the football, and runs track. Hosts: Cory Mayon and Beth Courtney
