Description
This segment from the 2005 Young Heroes Award Ceremony features a profile of honoree Christopher Rogers, a senior at Caddo Magnet High School in Shreveport. Despite a partial loss of his vision, Rogers maintains a 4.4 grade point average, was honored as a National Merit Commended Scholar, and was chosen to represent Louisiana at the Intel International Science Fair. Last summer, he performed research at the LSU Health Sciences Research Center on an experimental chemotherapy treatment to reduce the size of breast cancer tumors. He also volunteers with the American Red Cross, Shreveport Green, and local churches. Host: Brittany Parker
