This segment from the 2004 Young Heroes Award Ceremony features a profile of honoree Eddie Jenkins, a senior at Walker High School. Jenkins was born without the lower part of his spine due to a rare form of Spina Bifida. Despite this obstacle, he is an excellent student and tireless volunteer. In addition to single-handedly organizing his school’s first Veteran’s Day program, he also helped organize food drives for homeless shelters and the March of Dimes fundraiser at his school.
