This segment from the 2002 Young Heroes Award Ceremony features a profile of honoree Marcie Allen, a senior at East Beauregard High School in DeRidder. During a three-year period, Allen has overcome treatment for a chemical deficiency, a near-fatal car accident, the death of her grandmother, and the loss of her home due to a fire.
