This segment from the 1998 Young Heroes Award Ceremony features a profile of honoree Travis Torrance, a senior at Bonnabel High School in Kenner. Currently ranked second in his class, he is the president of the student body, District II Governor for Mu Alpha Theta, a group leader for the Peer Mediation Team and the news anchor for the campus television station. He was also recognized with a letter of accommodation from the National Achievement Scholarship program for ranking in the top 5% of African American students in the country taking the PSAT test.
