An oral history interview conducted on September 12, 2017, with Philip Rose, Jr. of Opelousas, Louisiana. Rose served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He discusses: his decision to enlist in the Marines; his first fire fight; capturing an NVA soldier during his first ambush with his company; his memories of an attack that started while he was sleeping; his role as a grenade launcher; his medals; and his experience of returning home.
