An oral history interview conducted on October 4, 2017, with Sherrill Armand of Port Allen, Louisiana. Armand, a native of Cottonport, Louisiana, served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He discusses: his decision to join the Air Force; his role as a flight mechanic for a Consolidated Aircraft Maintenance Squadron during his first tour in Vietnam; the difficult task of unloading body bags from the plane; his deployment with the Ranch Hands during his second tour of duty; their missions of spraying Agent Orange over Vietnam and Cambodia; being stranded in Khe Sang for two weeks during a mission to fly a group of Marines to Da Nang; the Tet Offensive; and living with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
