An oral history interview conducted on August 16, 2017, with Mary delaHoussaye Belleau of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She shares the story of her husband, Captain Arthur J. delaHoussaye of Lafayette, Louisiana, who served as a pilot in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. She discusses: her husband’s training; his assignment to Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 323; his role in flying 89 missions; his death during the Tet Offensive on January 31, 1968; how she learned about his death; how the Marines honored him; and her advice for young people who are interested in joining the military.
