Description

This program from November 20, 1991, follows a group of Louisiana teenagers on their three-week trip to the Soviet Union to meet with their Soviet counterparts and discuss their countries’ mutual problems with alcohol and drug abuse. The students visit Moscow, Russia, Kiev, Ukraine, and take a cruise down the Dnieper River in Ukraine. It includes interviews and comments by: David Stone, president of YMTN; Sand Hogan Ourso of the Governor’s Office for a Drug Free Louisiana; Erica Betts, student; Heather Stimits, student; Dr. Valentina Moskalenko, chief of the division of genetics with the All-Union Center for Addiction; Dr. Andrei Vrublevsky, director of the All-Union Center for Addiction; Richard Flicker, Louisiana psychologist; Billy Blaize, student; Dr. Eugenia Koshkina, division chief for social investigations of drug problems at the All-Union Center of Addiction; Chandra Hamilton, student; Bradley Denison, student; Marc Trahan, student; and Graham Powell, student. This trip was sponsored by the Governor’s Office for a Drug Free Louisiana, the YMTN Television Network, and Peace to the Children of the World in Moscow.
