Description
This episode of the series “La Veillee” from March 21, 2024, features Drake LeBlanc, Will McGrew, and Caitlin Orgeron of Tele-Louisiane reporting on “Footwork,” LeBlanc’s documentary film on the Creole Cowboys of Southwest Louisiana. They visit a weekly trail ride in Loreauville in St. Martin Parish with LeBlanc, who discusses why he made “Footwork” and the history and customs of Louisiana’s Creole cowboys. LeBlanc then interviews Randolph Joseph of Parks, one of the subjects in the film, who discusses: the Creole way of life, including food, horses, and zydeco music; how life has changed for Creoles; and the need to preserve the Creole language.
