Description
This segment from the January 10, 2020, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Natasha Williams’ report on the second peak of the flu season in Louisiana. Williams reports that the Centers for Disease Control ranks Louisiana as the worst state for flu activity. She interviews Karen Neyland and Sidney Rodriguez, who discuss their reasoning for why they did or did not get a flu shot. Williams also interviews Dr. Catherine O’Neal, an infectious disease specialist at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, who discusses: the high number of flu cases in October; the ongoing second peak of the flu; flu prevention; and the importance of contacting your doctor if you think you have the flu.
