This segment from the August 9, 2019, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Andre Moreau’s visit to Maison Chenal and LaCour House, two 18th century French Creole houses that are up for sale in Pointe Coupee Parish. Moreau reports that the two historic houses are a part of the Holden Collection, which consists of over 1,400 items made or used in Louisiana from the 1700s through the early 1830s. He interviews: Pat Holden, owner; Dr. Jack Holden, owner; Chanler Holden Mittendorf, the owners’ daughter; Peter Patout, realtor; and Philippe Halbert, French colonial historian.
