Description
This segment from the August 4, 2017, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Andre Moreau’s report from a media tour with Governor John Bel Edwards and First Lady Donna Edwards at the home of Lillie Gumm in Baton Rouge, which flooded during the August 2016 floods. Gumm was one of the first homeowners in the state to rebuild her home through the Restore Louisiana Housing Assistance Program. Moreau also interviews Pat Forbes, the executive director of the Office of Community Development, who discusses the thousands of families who still need to fill out the Restore Louisiana survey in order to receive aid through the Housing Assistance Program.
