Description
This segment from the April 4, 2014, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Charlie Whinham’s report on Swamp Pop, a line of soft drinks made of 100% Louisiana cane sugar. Whinham reports that the four available flavors are Satsuma Fizz, Noble Cane Cola, Praline Cream Soda, and Jean Lafitte Ginger Ale. He interviews Collin Cormier and John Petersen, two cousins from Lafayette and the co-founders of Swamp Pop, at their great-grandfather’s farm in Scott, Louisiana. They discuss: spending time at their great-grandfather’s farm while growing up; the origins of the soda; the old-fashioned look of the bottles; and the elements of their flavors.
