This segment from the December 14, 2012, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Sue Lincoln’s profile of Southern University’s two youngest graduates ever, nineteen-year-old Ronald Alexander and eighteen-year-old Polite Stewart, Jr. Lincoln reports that both graduates earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics. She interviews both Alexander and Stewart, who discuss their plans for graduate school, the importance of their experience at the Timbuktu Academy, and the best and worst parts of their college experiences. Lincoln also interviews: Pamela Jones Alexander, Ronald’s mother; Ava Stewart, Polite’s mother; Polite Stewart, Sr., Polite’s father; and Dr. Diola Bagayoko, their mentor and founder of the Timbuktu Academy.
