This segment from the January 27, 2012, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features producer Donna LaFleur’s visit to the 10-year retrospective exhibit of “Quilt the Swamp,” an annual show at the Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center in Baton Rouge that showcases textile art based on nature themes. LaFleur interviews Michael Young, the show’s curator, who discusses the origins of the show and the shows’ past themes. She also interviews two of the show’s participants, Mary Felder and Sally Gordon, who discuss the inspiration behind their quilts and their growth as quilters.
