This segment from the June 10, 2011, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features producer Jeremy Alford’s report on the possibility that the remaining oil from the BP Oil Spill could be pushed ashore by the storm surge from a hurricane. Alford interviews state climatologist Barry Keim on the forecast for the 2011 hurricane season. He also talks to Anna Hrybyk of the Louisiana Bucket Brigade about the oil that enters the Gulf of Mexico from leaking pipelines, platforms, and wells that cannot be attributed to the BP Oil Spill. Jerome Zeringue of the Governor’s Office of Coastal Activities also provides information on the state’s contingency plan for the further oiling of the coast. Host: Charlie Whinham
