This segment from the February 4, 2011, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features a report by Meg Smith of KNOE-TV in Monroe on the United States Green Building Council presenting the LEED Platinum Award to the ConAgra Sweet Potato Processing Plant in Delhi. Smith reports that only four other companies in the world have received the award for their use of green technology in their building designs. Smith interviews: Greg Coates of the Louisiana Chapter of the United States Green Building Council on the green technology used in the plant; Rick Martin, the Vice President of Marketing for ConAgra Foods, on the energy savings of the building; and State Senator Francis Thompson on his hope that this award will lead to more economic development in Northeast Louisiana.
