Description
This segment from the December 31, 2010, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Charlie Whinham’s visit to the Christmas in Roseland celebration at the Gardens of the American Rose Center in Shreveport. Whinham interviews Jeffery Ware, the executive director of the American Rose Society, who discusses the history of the event, the origins of the reflecting pool and Christmas tree at the front of the property, the local entertainment, and their participation in the Holiday Trail of Lights. Whinham also meets with Maria Scott, the director of communications for the American Rose Society, who tells him about the community Christmas card program and the Roseland Express miniature train.
