Description
This segment from the January 22, 2010, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Shauna Sanford’s profile of the Harlem Ambassadors, an organization dedicated to encouraging kids to stay in school and drug-free. Sanford interviews Lade Majic, the leader of the Harlem Ambassadors, who discusses the requirements for the group, their travels around the world, their school assemblies and basketball shows, the issues that all kids deal with, and her responsibility as a role model. Sanford also talks to two of the group’s newest members, Ashley Wilson and Calvin Jenkins, Jr., about their experiences in helping kids through the Harlem Ambassadors.
