This segment from the January 15, 2010, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Charlie Whinham’s visit to St. Joseph’s Co-Cathedral in Thibodaux. He talks to Monsignor Francis Amedee about the history of the church, which was built in 1923. Whinham also speaks to lifelong member Margaret Orgeron about the special features of the church and St. Valerie, the church’s patron saint. Lastly, Whinham interviews Richard “Gibbins” Robichaux, the church’s organist, about the church’s ceiling, the history of the church’s organ, and the history of the St. Valerie statue.
