Description

This segment from the July 17, 2009, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features an on-set interview with State Representative Pat Smith of Baton Rouge on comments she made this past week at the Baton Rouge Press Club regarding Governor Bobby Jindal and his “punitive actions” towards state legislators who did support his agenda during the 2009 Regular Session of the Louisiana Legislature. Charlie Whinham and Shauna Sanford talk to Smith about: a bill that she sponsored for funding the Louisiana Art & Science Museum in Baton Rouge that was vetoed by Governor Jindal because he stated it was not a “regional program”; Governor Jindal’s other “punitive actions” towards legislators and his appointees; why she is terming his actions as “punitive”; her support of the dual diploma track in high schools; and not hearing from the Governor’s Office after her comments.
