Description
This segment from the September 12, 2008, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Charlie Whinham following members of the 203rd Engineering Battalion of the Missouri National Guard as they clear roads, build bridges and cut down trees in order to help with the restoration of power to residents following Hurricane Gustav. This unit principally worked in West Feliciana and East Feliciana Parishes, including the Louisiana War Veterans Home in Jackson. In all, National Guard units from 21 states visited Louisiana to aid in the recovery efforts after Hurricane Gustav. Hosts: Charlie Whinham and Shauna Sanford
