Description
This segment from the May 14, 1993, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Arcie Chapa’s report on a strike by workers of the National Tea Company, the parent company of several grocery stores in Louisiana, including the Real Superstore. Chapa reports that the new employment contract allows the National Tea Company to replace older workers with new part-time employees and shifts the cost of health insurance entirely to the employees.
