This episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” from April 16, 1993, features Robert Collins, Arcie Chapa, and Jeff Duhe reporting on the potential impact of President Bill Clinton’s economic policies on Louisiana. Chapa first reports on the proposed youth apprenticeship program, a job training program for 7 million teenagers who do not plan to attend college. She interviews: Tony Lamantz, a GED program student; Betty Jefferson, GED program coordinator; United States Senator John Breaux; Linda Stelly, New Orleans school administrator; Kevin Davis, printing apprentice; Garland Williams, printing apprentice; Lawrence Edwards, Jr., printer; and Secretary Kevin Reilly of the Louisiana Department of Economic Development. Duhe then reports on Clinton’s economic stimulus package and its possible negative impact on the state’s economy due to a proposed energy tax.
