This segment from the January 24, 1992, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Jeff Duhe’s report on Governor Edwin Edwards’ decision to scrap the Roemer Administration’s environmental scorecard program. It includes highlights of a press conference with Governor Edwards discussing his decision. Duhe also interviews: Secretary Kevin Reilly of the Louisiana Department of Economic Development; Mary Lee Orr of the Louisiana Environmental Action Network; Larry Adcock, the plant manager at Dow Chemical in Plaquemine; and Dan Juneau, the president of the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry (LABI). Robert Collins then conducts an in-studio interview with Secretary Kai Midboe of the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) and Zack Nauth of the Louisiana Coalition for Tax Justice. They discuss the Governor’s decision and Secretary Midboe’s plans for DEQ.
