This segment from the April 1, 1988, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Ken Lormand’s report on the Reverend Jimmy Swaggart’s plans to return to the pulpit at the Family Worship Center in Baton Rouge on May 22nd following a three-month suspension from the Louisiana district of the Assemblies of God due to misconduct involving a prostitute in New Orleans. Lormand reports that Swaggart will be preaching in defiance of a harsher punishment from the National Assemblies of God, a two-year suspension, a one-year ban from preaching, and a two-year rehabilitation.
