This special episode of the series “Louisiana Public Square” from December 18, 2019, features highlights of two panel discussions recapping the 2019 statewide elections held by the LSU Manship School of Mass Communication’s Reilly Center for Media and Public Affairs in Baton Rouge. Natasha Williams of LPB moderates the first panel on the 2019 gubernatorial election. The panelists are: Richard Carbo, the campaign manager for Governor John Bel Edwards; Jared Arsement, the media consultant for the Edwards’ campaign; Bryan Reed, the campaign manager for businessman Eddie Rispone; Luke Letlow, the chief of staff for Congressman Ralph Abraham; and Lionel Rainey, a consultant for the Abraham campaign. Melinda Deslatte of the Associated Press moderates the second panel on the future of the Louisiana Legislature. The panelists are: Senate President John Alario; Jeremy Alford, the editor of LaPolitics; State Representative Pat Smith; Liz Mangham of Southern Strategy Group; and State Representative Barry Ivey.
