A speech by Dr. Paul Murrill before the Baton Rouge Rotary Club on May 3, 2017. Dr. Murrill is a former chancellor of Louisiana State University (LSU) in Baton Rouge. He discusses: the Burden Museum and Gardens in Baton Rouge, including Windrush Gardens, the LSU Rural Life Museum, and the LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens; the three Burden siblings who donated Windrush Plantation to LSU – Ione Easter Burden, William Pike Burden, Jr., and Ollie Steele Burden; the stipulations of their donation; and their vision for the property.
