It includes interviews with: Dr. Fred Sistler of the LSU AgCenter on his use of machine vision to assist agricultural aviators; Dr. Malcolm Wright of the LSU AgCenter on his development of an electronic sweet potato grading system; Dr. Sistler on his creation of an electronic system to grade ornamental plants; Dr. Sistler and Dr. Lalit Verma of the LSU AgCenter on their development of an electronic rice grading system; Ranvir Mohindra, the Vice President of Operations for Riviana Foods, Inc., on the benefits of the rice grading system to the industry; Dr. Robert McIlhenny of the LSU Department of Industrial Engineering on his work in establishing an injection molding facility for plastics in Louisiana; Susan Basu, an entrepreneur and inventor, and Bob Sprunk, a master tool and die maker for Scientific Fabrication Service, Inc., on the benefits of this facility; Dr. Ronnie Mathews, Dr. David Thompson and Dr. Bill Buford, Jr. on the partnership between LSU and the National Hansen’s Disease Center in Carville in creating a computer model to help improve the tendon transfer surgical procedures for patients with Hansen’s Disease.
