Description
Elizabeth Crisp moderates a debate at the Baton Rouge Press Club on October 2, 2017, between three of the candidates for District 2 of the Louisiana Public Service Commission (PSC): Interim Commissioner Damon Baldone, Dr. Craig Greene, and former State Representative Lenar Whitney. The debate begins with each candidate’s opening statement. Members of the press then ask the candidates questions on the following topics: their priority in protecting consumers or businesses; reducing energy consumption; their experience in evaluating data; the relationship between the PSC and the Legislature; the role of the PSC in dealing with the consolidation of cable television companies; incentives to encourage energy efficiency; what their conservative principles mean in relation to their role on the PSC; and the role of the PSC in regulating railroads and trucking. The debate ends with each candidate’s closing statement.
