Description
Michael Marsh moderates a debate at the Baton Rouge Press Club on October 17, 2016, between five of the candidates for Mayor-President of East Baton Rouge Parish: Metro Councilman John Delgado; State Senator Bodi White; Baton Rouge realtor Darryl Gissel; State Representative C. Denise Marcelle; and former State Senator Sharon Weston Broome. The debate begins with each candidate’s opening statement. Members of the press then ask the candidates questions on the following topics: finding money in a tight budget for their proposed projects; education; a new parish jail; the incorporation of St. George; tax policy; streamlining the parish attorney’s office; and creating more walking and bike paths. The debate ends with each candidate’s closing statement.
