Description

A debate at the Baton Rouge Press Club on November 16, 2015, between the two run-off candidates for Lieutenant Governor: Baton Rouge Mayor-President Kip Holden (D) and former Plaquemines Parish President Billy Nungesser (R). The debate begins with each candidate’s opening statement. Members of the press then ask the candidates questions on the following topics: their biggest priority; what differentiates them from their opponent; a new idea for promoting tourism; providing direct flights from New Orleans to Europe; selling Louisiana people on their state; their view of Governor Jindal’s executive order preventing Syrian refugees from entering the state; promoting Poverty Point as a UNESCO World Heritage site; the future of the Seafood Promotion Board; measuring the success of their outreach program; film industry tax credits; staff size; and getting out the vote on Election Day. The debate ends with each candidate’s closing statement.
