Description

A speech by former Congressman Jeff Landry before the Baton Rouge Press Club on November 2, 2015. Landry is a candidate in the run-off election for Attorney General. His opponent, Attorney General Buddy Caldwell, declined his invitation to attend the forum. Prior to Landry’s speech, Geri Broussard Baloney, a candidate in the primary election, endorses Landry. During his speech, Landry discusses his campaign platform and his view of Caldwell’s mismanagement of the office. He then answers questions from the press on the following topics: his legal experience; whether he will pursue the current lawsuits of the Jindal Administration; Caldwell’s absence from the forum; his view of the role of the Attorney General’s Office; his priorities for the office; working with law enforcement agencies; the office’s budget; and enforcing tax exemptions.
