Description
A speech by former Governor Edwin Edwards before the Baton Rouge Press Club on November 24, 2014. Edwards is a candidate in the run-off election for Louisiana’s 6th Congressional District. His opponent, Garret Graves, declined his invitation to speak. Edwards discusses: the government contracts issued while Graves was the head of the Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority that he believes are questionable; gerrymandering; traffic in Baton Rouge; and rural high speed internet. He also answers questions from the press on the following topics: the Southeast Louisiana Flood Protection Authority-East’s lawsuit against 97 oil and gas companies; former candidate Paul Dietzel II; immigration; and the re-election campaign of United States Senator Mary Landrieu.
