Description
A speech by Dr. William Arceneaux before the Baton Rouge Press Club on December 5, 2011. Dr. Arceneaux is the President of the Council for the Development of French in Louisiana (CODOFIL). He talks about the radical changes made to the mission of CODOFIL through Act 679 of 2010, which calls for CODOFIL to focus on French immersion education. He also discusses the resulting Escadrile Louisiane program, which sends Louisiana students to France so that they can come back to the state and teach in French immersion programs. Dr. Arceneaux also shares a video presentation about the Escadrile Louisiane program.
