Description
This episode of the series “Louisiana Legends” from August 10, 2001, features an interview with Elemore Morgan, Jr. conducted by Gus Weill. Morgan, a native of Baton Rouge, is a landscape painter best known for his paintings of rice farms in Vermilion Parish. He discusses: his relatives in Abbeville; his early fascination with the Louisiana prairie; his time spent studying art at LSU and at the Ruskin School of Art in Oxford, England; his travels with the Air Force during the Korean War; and the opportunities offered to him as a teacher of art at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
