Beth Courtney, Charlie Whinham, and Robyn Merrick host a live pledge drive from the LPB Studios in Baton Rouge on August 29, 2016, to raise money for school supplies for the teachers and students at the more than fifty schools damaged by the historic flooding in southeast Louisiana. This program includes reports from several impacted schools, including Denham Springs Elementary School in Livingston Parish, the Ascension Parish School System, Central Private School in East Baton Rouge Parish, and Glen Oaks Park Elementary School in East Baton Rouge Parish. It also includes on-set interviews with: Louisiana First Lady Donna Edwards; Carlos Williams, the principal at Southside Junior High School in Denham Springs; Karin Parrino, a teacher at North Live Oak Elementary School in Watson; Superintendent Rick Wentzel of Livingston Parish; Principal Gail DeLee and teacher Tiffany Spears of Denham Springs Elementary School; Lynne Spears, the mother of Britney Spears; Scott Richard, the president of the Louisiana School Boards Association; Dennis Lomonaco of Team Comeback Kids; Superintendent David Alexander and Assistant Superintendent Denise Graves of Ascension Parish; Mia Edwards, the principal at St. Amant High School; Ginnie Crawford, a teacher at St. Amant Primary School; Assistant Superintendent Sandy Davis of the Central Community Schools; Chuck Hoots, the principal at Central Private School; Keith Courville of A+PEL; Penny Kinchen, a teacher at Central Private School; Barbara Freiberg, the president of the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board; Superintendent Warren Drake of East Baton Rouge Parish; Jada Lewis of the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education; Principal Bernard Williams and librarian Trey Veasey of Glen Oaks Park Elementary School in East Baton Rouge Parish; Cheryl Michelet of BREC; Julie Laperouse, a parent; Renee Chatelain of the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge; and Stephen Aguillard, a clinical social worker with Capital Area Human Services.
