This program from November 3, 2008, features the appraisals from the Louisiana Archives Roadshow event at the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum in Shreveport. It includes the appraisals for the following items: a fragment from the April 12, 1861, storm flag on April 12, 1861 at Fort Sumter; a collection of Rosa’s Character Dolls made by Rosa Wilder Blackmon in Homer, Louisiana; a 1925 Shreveport Bar Association photograph with Huey Long; a rare book collection; a Conrad Albrizio painting; a collection of Civil War artifacts; a 1965 LSU autographed football; a set of Victorian wedding bracelets and a Georgian ring; a 1932 graduation photograph from Central Colored High School in Shreveport; a cloth from Bonnie and Clyde’s car; a gun used in the shooting of Bonnie and Clyde; a collection of Julie Ann dolls made in Shreveport; a photograph of Shreveport painter Louis G. Sicard, Sr.; a painting by L.R. Cook of Arcadia, Louisiana; a 1934 Christmas card; and an 1860 presidential banner for William Yancey made in New Orleans. The appraisers include: Dr. Gary Joiner, a military historian at LSU-Shreveport; Anita Berg, a judge with the United Federation of Doll Clubs; Michael Wynne, a Louisiana history and book expert; Eric J. Brock, a regional historian; Dr. Lisa Nicoletti, the chair of the art department at Centenary College in Shreveport; Betty Black, an estate jewelry expert with Hollis & Co.; Richard Holloway, an archivist with the State Military Department; Carolyn Davis, a historic doll collector; Larry Milford, a consultant on decorative arts and design; and Dinah Lee Cash, a consultant on fine and decorative arts. This program also includes interviews with Louisiana Secretary of State Jay Dardenne and Forrest Dunn, the director of the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum. Host: Beth Courtney
