Description
This episode of the “Louisiana History Bee” from May 29, 2005, features highlights of Bill Rodman hosting the 2005 statewide competition for junior high students in Louisiana. The participants were: Mariana King, 8th grade, from St. Frederick’s High School in Monroe, Louisiana; Gregory Coles, 8th grade, from Crescent Elementary and Junior High School in Plaquemines, Louisiana; Trent Whitley, 8th grade, from S.P. Arnett Middle School in Westlake, Louisiana; Quinette Thomes, 8th grade, from St. Stephen Catholic School in New Orleans, Louisiana; Nicholas Taylor, 8th grade, from Caddo Middle Magnet School in Shreveport, Louisiana; Patrick Swiber, 8th grade, from Berwick Junior High School in Berwick, Louisiana; Kelly Gamble, 8th grade, from Ascension Day School in Lafayette, Louisiana; and Shane Brooks, 8th grade, from Calvin High School in Calvin, Louisiana. Each contestant was awarded a U.S. Savings Bond along with the first, second and third place winners receiving an additional savings bond. This program was preserved through a 2022-2023 Public Broadcasting Preservation Fellowship.
