This episode of the “Louisiana History Bee” from May 23, 2004, features highlights of Bill Rodman hosting the 2004 statewide competition for junior high students in Louisiana. The participants were: Leigh Phillips, 7th grade, from W.W. Lewis Middle School in Sulphur, Louisiana; Cody Spencer, 7th grade, from Lake Castle North School in Slidell, Louisiana; Cameron Parker, 8th grade, from Paul Breaux Middle School in Lafayette, Louisiana; Heidi Daigle, 8th grade, from Pierre Part Middle School in Pierre Part, Louisiana; Samuel Smith, 7th grade, from T.H. Harris Middle School in Kenner, Louisiana; Nicole Reswebber, 8th grade, from The Dunham School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Ethan Jeane, 7th grade, from Evans Middle School in Evans, Louisiana; Caitlin Orgeron, 8th grade, from Holy Rosary Catholic School, Lafourche Parish, Louisiana; Nicholas Young, 8th grade, from Cedar Creek School in Ruston, Louisiana; and Keanan Parr, 8th grade, from Caddo Middle Magnet in Shreveport, Louisiana. Each contestant was awarded a U.S. Savings Bond along with the first, second and third place winners receiving an additional savings bond. This program was preserved through a 2022-2023 Public Broadcasting Preservation Fellowship.
